A Scale of Two Cities
I brainstormed the idea and name for this game with a friend. See what he came up with from the same prompt!
Premise
Two cities (Not pictured) are precariously balanced on a set of scales (Also not pictured).
The growth of one unsettles the other.
Because of lore (Not pictured) you must place tiles to expand the cities without tipping the balance.
Reality
This is a game where you click things on a grid.
Farms make food.
Houses consume food.
Overproducing food makes farms derelict.
There are adjacency bonuses.
In theory there is always a move available. In reality this causes crashes.
It's not fun.
Excuses:
I'm a backend developer.
I made this with a web framework.
I made 2 sprites then gave up.
I probably spent less than 20 hours on this.
I'll learn Godot and get an asset pack for next year's jam.
Credits:
The game is written in Leptos (I'll open source the code if anyone asks)
The house and farm sprites are made from isaiah658's tile pack
